Halo Beriti - Ethiopia - Light
This washed Ethiopian from Gedeb, Yirgacheffe is a bright, delicate little stunner. Jasmine aromatics lead the way, followed by rich apricot sweetness and a zing of citrus that gives the cup plenty of energy.
The acidity is bright and pronounced without overwhelming the sweetness, making this a dynamic cup that keeps changing as you drink it. There's a lot going on here, but it's all remarkably well integrated.
This is one of those coffees where clarity really matters. I love it through a V60 or Chemex, where the paper filter helps keep the cup clean and lets those more delicate jasmine, apricot, and citrus notes really shine.
Light, bright, floral, juicy. What's not to like?
